Consultants – Are you ready?

Written by Nick Gillies, Christina Bryant, Helen MacFarlane and Sarah Holderness on August 23rd, 2016.

How will the changes to the Construction Contracts Act 2002 affect Architects, Engineers and Quantity Surveyors?

From 1 September 2016 the Construction Contracts Act 2002 (CCA) will apply to design, engineering and quantity surveying work.  This means architects, engineers and quantity surveyors can expect to be subject to the payment and adjudication regimes in the CCA.

This change has a number of important consequences for consultants in relation to, among other things, their terms of engagement, payment processes, dispute resolution options and PI insurance.

Please click here for a practical explanation of this change and its implication for consultants.
