Hesketh Henry has received the following recommendations and commentary in the high profile Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2017 directory.

Corporate and M&A 

Auckland firm Hesketh Henry is ‘first class, a “go-to” firm for M&A’. Erich Bachmann’s team advises domestic and international clients, including AA Insurance and AIG. Kate Telford advised National Aluminium on its first joint venture. Chris Lee is recommended for business sales and purchases and John Kirkwood is ‘a commercial lawyer of the first order’.

Employment

Hesketh Henry’s Jim Roberts handles employment documentation that goes to the 2,000 members of the Restaurant Association of New Zealand. His highlights included handling issues arising from the business restructuring and sale of a division by InterMed Medical, and work for the Corrections Association of New Zealand union, which represents 2,500 members.

Insurance

Approachable and professional firm’ Hesketh Henry is ‘commercially astute and pragmatic’. Brett Morley’s Auckland team includes Alan Sherlock (‘careful, pleasant to deal with and a skilled litigator’) and professional indemnity specialists Nick Gillies and Christina Bryant. Sherlock advised Vero Insurance and AA Insurance on claims stemming from the Canterbury earthquakes. Special Counsel Helen Macfarlane is noted as a ‘next generation lawyer’.

Real Estate and Construction

Brian Coburn, Robert Berry lead the team at ‘excellent firm’ Hesketh Henry in Auckland. Berry advised Kahawai Point Developments on a multimillion-dollar 800-lot development.
