COMPETITION LAW & TRADE PRACTICES
There are many obstacles to company growth, and one of them is navigating a path through
the many different aspects of competition (or anti-trust) law. We understand that sound advice in this area goes far beyond simply applying the legislation and requires deep knowledge
and experience.

It means understanding and defining markets and market share, competitive influences and substitutability. Taking account of economic factors and advice especially relating to market power. Managing large volumes of electronic information and performing an outstanding job in Government inter-agency liaison and communication.

Our Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team has strong expertise and experience with major transactions where competition law is a factor and there is the potential to acquire substantial market power. We have undertaken cases in a wide variety of industries and sectors, including airports, financial institutions, automotive, electricity, retailing, travel and superannuation.

We have sound working relationships with eminent New Zealand economists and experts who are able to assist with analysis of market evidence in competition and anti-trust issues arising in New Zealand and trans-Tasman markets.

For further information please contact Brett Morley.

EMPLOYMENT LAW
Hesketh Henry has a specialist Employment Law team with substantial experience in all aspects of dispute resolution and litigation. Beyond an astute understanding and broad knowledge of the administration of the law in this sensitive area, there is a need to work well with the emotional dynamics of the relationship between employer and employee.

There are many elements and applications of employment law that go beyond the breakdown of working relationships, and we provide comprehensive support in dealing with these issues. Policy development, collective agreements, Kiwisaver implementation, superannuation, risk management, due diligence, and amalgamation of workforces as the result of a merger are among the services we regularly offer to employers in a wide variety of industries and sectors.

Hesketh Henry has the resources and expertise to satisfy the demands of the largest
clients. If you would like more information about our Employment Law services, please
call Jim Roberts.
