Sean is a partner in our Corporate and Commercial Team who
specialises in the areas of information technology, intellectual
property, and telecommunications law. Sean also has broad company
and commercial legal experience spanning over 19 years, including
experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors too.
Sean has worked for large law firms both in New Zealand and in the
UK and has acted for a large range of corporate clients including
large multinationals, both in New Zealand and in the UK, assisting
them with some of their largest projects. He has also worked
in-house for several large UK FTSE 100 companies.
Sean is
also a certified and experienced PRINCE2 ('Projects in Controlled
Environments') project manager, which enables Sean to better
understand project related risks and issues to ensure they are
reflected in proposed agreements.
Sean’s skills and
experience enable him to act pragmatically, commercially and
professionally for his clients in order to successfully conclude
their desired commercial arrangements.
Sean has significant
experience in:
- Advising clients on a wide range of commercial legal
matters, particularly in relation to IT contracts including,
software development, licensing and distribution agreements,
outsourcing agreements and other agreements relating to the
provision of managed IT and telecommunications services or the
licensing of intellectual property;
- Advising on regulatory and compliance issues in the IT and
telecommunications industries;
- Energy law matters, including electricity and gas supply
agreements and lines/connection agreements;
- Drafting and advising on construction contracts as well as
infrastructure repair and maintenance agreements;
- Drafting and advising on a wide range of supply and
licensing arrangements; and
- Advising and assisting clients with joint ventures and
other business structures.
