Jim Roberts heads up the employment law team at
Hesketh Henry and also co-leads our Litigation and Disputes
Resolution team. The breadth and depth of his experience through
his 15 year career in employment law means he offers clients
sound compliance advice and case management in all areas of his
field.
Jim helps his clients, who are from a range of industries,
develop their employment strategies which include collective
bargaining, personal grievance processes, disputes, human
rights, health and safety and accident compensation.
As well as providing strategic legal advice, Jim has been
involved in collective bargaining in industries as varied as
aviation, maritime, dairy, meat, finance, electricity,
telecommunications and insurance.
Jim also assists his clients with compliance work in order to
minimise the exposure to risk in these areas, with a particular
focus on employment agreements and issues arising from mergers
and acquisitions.
During his career, Jim has acted on a number of leading cases.
Particular highlights are a Court of Appeal benchmark case on
the correct approach to interpretation of collective contracts
and appearing in the Privy Council regarding employment
jurisdiction.
Jim takes the time to get to know his clients’ business and to
understand the people behind the issues. He balances this with
providing sound legal advice in a straight forward and
professional way.
