Firm thrilled to have Mayor discussing Auckland's infrastructure needs at Inaugural HH & ANZ Quarterly in-house counsel forum

In conjunction with the ANZ, Hesketh Henry was delighted to host a number of in-house counsel at a breakfast forum this morning where Auckland’s Mayor, Phil Goff, outlined the Council’s aspirations and challenges in respect of the city’s infrastructure needs.

Mr Goff delivered a highly engaging and informative speech to an audience from some of New Zealand’s and Auckland’s foremost businesses. He covered topics such as the scale of the challenges Auckland faces from rapid population growth and how Council is working with central government, businesses and ratepayers to swiftly find solutions for a city seeking to attract and retain world-class talent.

The Mayor’s speech made it plain that the Council is running hard to address all its infrastructure needs, including housing, water, roading, rail and the CBD waterfront generally. The Mayor reminded the audience of upcoming major events such as APEC and the proposed America’s Cup in 2021 which will help make some of these projects a priority.

Attendees appreciated the opportunity to hear from and then quiz Mr Goff on this highly relevant topic and to share infrastructure experiences with their peers. Hesketh Henry and ANZ are extremely grateful to the Mayor and to attendees for giving up their valuable time and are looking forward to co-hosting their next in-house forum in November.

Hesketh Henry is proud to be supporting the Child Cancer Foundation by becoming a Owl sponsor for "The Big Hoot" Auckland 2018

This project is presented by Child Cancer Foundation in partnership with the International creator of the event, Wild in Art. The goal is to raise significant funds for the Child Cancer Foundation. Between March – May 2018 over 40 large owls will be scattered throughout Auckland streets, parks and open spaces as a Live Trail for the public to view/follow. We are also excited to involve our families, with an in-house colouring in competition where the winner will win an owlet for there school. This will be painted up by the school and will also be displayed.

This is an “owlsome’ event and we are delighted to be able to play a small part in creating one of the city’s biggest ever public art trail events in Auckland. More importantly we are proud to be able to play a small part in fundraising for the Child Cancer Foundation.

Our owl is ordered and the next step is to choose the design. Watch this space for updates.
