Profile
Emily Black is a Senior Associate in Private Wealth team.

Emily has a broad range of property and trust experience acting for investors and business owners which has been gained in New Zealand and England.

Emily currently manages the firm’s estate administration practice.  She is responsible for ensuring that estates are handled in a timely and efficient manner.  Emily ensures that executors and beneficiaries are given regular and clear advice on their duties and rights under a deceased’s will.

Estate administration is becoming more complex given the focus of the Courts on evidence of testamentary capacity.  Other changes in law, such as the Overseas Investment Act applying to residential property is also increasing the administration required.

Emily is also involved with estate planning and trusts, particularly testamentary trusts created by will.

Outside of the office Emily is busy with her two young children and large dog.  When not with her children, Emily enjoys catching up with friends and family.
