After qualifying in the M&A and Securities teams of one of New Zealand’s largest firms, Chris practiced in London for more than a decade. Initially, he worked for a listed property services group, primarily in conducting due diligence for and then documenting 19 bolt-on acquisitions.
In his 2nd UK role, he spent 6 years in-house, ending as global legal director for FTSE 250 engineering company, Morgan Advanced Materials plc. In addition to responsibilities related to M&A and significant commercial agreements, Chris sat on the risk committee, managed significant litigation and regulatory investigations and assisted with the development and roll-out of compliance programmes. Following Chris’ return to New Zealand, Morgan has remained a client.
Chris’ practice is now focused on:
- Mergers & acquisitions, including due diligence and cross-border joint ventures;
- Negotiating commercial agreements, including: manufacturing; supply and procurement; confidentiality; distribution; agency; and terms and conditions; and
- All aspects of governance and legal corporate compliance.
Chris is a regular presenter of seminars and papers to legal and industry groups and is a guest speaker at business retreats.
Chris is the Honorary solicitor for the Auckland University Rugby Football Club.
