Hannah is a Senior Solicitor in our Disputes team.

Hannah was admitted to the bar in 2010.  She started her career as a Judges’ Clerk of the Auckland High Court and then joined the Crown Solicitor’s office in Auckland where she worked as an Intermediate Crown Prosecutor and general civil litigator.  Hannah has appeared before the District Court, High Court and the Court of Appeal on a variety of civil and criminal matters.

Prior to joining Hesketh Henry, Hannah read for a Master of Laws at the University of Cambridge.  She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the University of Auckland.

Experience

Examples of work completed by Hannah include:

  • Appearing in the District Court and High Court on interim injunction applications, summary judgement applications, caveat applications, and prosecuting insurance fraud claims;
  • Advising insurers on policy coverage issues in relation to general commercial policies, subrogated recovery, and general liability matters;
  • Reviewing construction and consultancy services contracts and advising client on contractual terms and commercial risks;
  • Advising on construction contract disputes, including in relation to variation claims and liquidated damages claims; and
  • Advising insurer in relation to a $1m claim for damage arising from a rural fire, including on policy response, liability under the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, and recoupment and contribution as against the contractor, and managing the subsequent multi party settlement
