Nina is a solicitor in the Disputes Team.

Nina is a solicitor in the Disputes Team.  Nina was admitted as a solicitor in 2014 after graduating from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce.

Since starting at Hesketh Henry, Nina has been involved in a range of disputes including assisting on construction disputes, insurance matters, professional indemnity claims, employment matters and general civil matters.

Experience

Examples of work completed by Nina include:

  • Defending claims by various insured residential homeowners brought against EQC and private insurers following the Canterbury earthquakes;
  • Defending claims brought by commercial property owners against private insurers following the Canterbury earthquakes;
  • Defending subcontractors against claims alleging defective repairs of earthquake damaged property;
  • Providing advice on enforceability of payment claims/schedules under construction contracts;
  • Assisting to resolve construction disputes involving allegations of defective workmanship for residential property owners;
  • Defending claim against project manager in relation to alleged weathertightness in respect of a series of apartments;
  • Junior counsel on Employment Relations Authority hearing regarding the interpretation of a collective employment agreement;
  • Junior counsel on Employment Relations Authority hearing concerning the dismissal of an employee; and
  • Advising an employer in a disciplinary process involving an executive staff member and negotiating exit terms.
