Sam Lee

Sam Lee is a Senior Associate in Hesketh Henry’s Property team

Sam attended the University of Canterbury, graduating in June 2007. Sam joined Hesketh Henry in August 2016 and specialises in commercial contracts, commercial leases and general property.

Before joining Hesketh Henry, Sam worked in both private practice and the public sector, which enables him to provide comprehensive advice to clients.

Sam is also part of Hesketh Henry’s Asian Team.

Examples of work completed by Sam include:

  • Advising on the leasing requirement for residential, commercial and industrial ground leases for the Anglican Church Trusts and Methodist Church Trusts;
  • Advising on leasing and property management requirements for commercial offices/court building for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and Ministry of Justice;
  • Managing the property portfolio requirements of the Warehouse Limited (92 properties), the Warehouse Stationery Limited (69 properties) and Noel Leeming Limited (77 Properties);
  • Acting for a consortium of owners on easement issues relating to acquisition of the properties via the Public Works Act by Auckland Transport;
  • Acting for AA Insurance in respect of cross-lease issues relating to properties damaged by the Christchurch earthquakes;
  • Preparing and carrying out due diligence on Sale and Purchase agreements;
  • Advising on Body Corporate and Easement Issues; and
  • Advising on legislative compliance issues (e.g. Special Housing Area requirements);
