On 16 March 2018, Hesketh Henry led three sessions at the Legalwise Building and Construction Conference at the Stamford Plaza in Auckland.
- Nick Gillies (Partner) chaired the afternoon, and spoke earlier in the day about the difficulties with dual role of the Engineer to the Contract (his paper is available here);
- Glen Holm-Hansen (Senior Associate) and Hannah Yiu (Senior Solicitor) delivered an update on recent construction law cases and regulatory developments in the industry. Glen and Hannah agreed to take this session after John Green, who was due to present, became unavailable at short notice.
On 19 March 2018, Helen Macfarlane also spoke at the New Zealand Building Industry Regulation and Compliance Conference on the topic of leaky buildings and the possibility of council class action.
