Alastair is a solicitor in the Litigation Group, having been admitted to the bar in 2022. He assists in a variety of matters, including in insurance and general dispute resolution. He has appeared in both the District Court and the High Court, and has acted in various mediations, arbitrations and adjudications.

Alastair has experience in insurance litigation and dispute resolution, including in relation to pursuing and defending subrogated recovery, defect liability, professional indemnity and marine cargo claims, and has advised on a broad range of complex policy coverage issues. Alastair has also had experience in a broad range of contentious construction issues, including in disputes regarding delay, variations, construction defects, and insolvency.

He brings a thoughtful and analytical approach to his work, with a particular interest in how international and political developments influence legal thinking. Alastair contributes to clear, practical outcomes, and works closely with clients to help navigate complex issues.

Alastair is the current Legal Officer of the New Zealand branch of Young Insurance Professionals of Australia and New Zealand (YIPs). He is also an active member of the New Zealand Law Association, New Zealand Insurance Law Association, Arbitrators’ and Mediators’ Institute of New Zealand, and the Society of Construction Law.
