Barret is a partner in the Property Team and leads Hesketh Henry’s Māori Business practice. He advises on all aspects of property law, with expertise in commercial leasing, acquisitions and disposals, and development projects across commercial office, industrial, retail, mixed-use, and bare land sectors. Barret works closely with private and commercial entities to support their property transactions, including construction, subdivisions, and asset management.

As lead partner for Māori Business, Barret provides tailored legal advice to Iwi and Māori entities across Aotearoa, including post-settlement transactions, governance, joint ventures, and property law. He has significant experience in post-settlement acquisitions and developments, the forestry sector, and Public Works Act processes. Barret’s deep sector knowledge and practical approach help clients navigate complex property and commercial matters with clarity and confidence.
