Clara is a solicitor in the Trade and Transport and Insurance teams.
She has experience in commercial shipping, marine insurance, aviation, international debt recovery as well as general commercial matters.
She regularly handles charterparty disputes, subrogated cargo recoveries, and claims arising under commercial shipping contracts, international sale of goods and contracts for air carriage.
Her matters often have a cross-border component. Clara works with lawyers in various international jurisdictions, including the US, China, Korea, Singapore, Denmark, Germany and Australia.
Clara has previously acted in LMAA arbitration and advised international airlines and carriers on liability and debt recovery under New Zealand law. Clara has also acted for insurers in subrogated recoveries against overseas defendants and suppliers in relation to disputed debts arising from international sales of goods.
