Hesketh Henry Celebrates 160 years

In 2025, Hesketh Henry proudly marks 160 years of continuous legal practice in New Zealand — a milestone that honours our heritage while looking to the future with purpose.

Founded in 1865 in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Hesketh Henry began as a fledgling but determined colonial practice.  Today, we are a modern commercial law firm with a strong national presence and international outlook.  Our specialist legal work spans construction, insurance, real estate, employment, Māori business, private wealth, trade and transport, and corporate and international law — sectors where our clients trust us for clarity, excellence, and insight.

While our roots run deep, our focus is firmly forward.  Across generations, Hesketh Henry has continued to evolve, built on a foundation of legal excellence and trusted advice.  Our people reflect that tradition – working alongside clients to meet today’s demands and prepare for what’s next.

With 160 years of shared progress, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that make a difference in our communities, including:
