Hak Jun Lee and Barret Blaylock of Hesketh Henry’s commercial property team acted for Soft Technologies JR Limited in relation to the lease of its film studio property in Kumeu to Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (“ATEED”).
Barret has extensive experience in commercial leasing across many industries and Hak Jun is one of the most senior and credible legal practitioners servicing the Auckland Korean community.
Both played an integral role in the negotiation and preparation of an Agreement to Lease and Deed of Lease between the parties. ATEED will operate and manage the land and studio complex which includes giant water tanks used for filming, a large green screen, a substantial forest area and workshop space that make it an attractive destination for both national and international film and television makers.
Soft Technology JR Limited is also committed to expanding the studio facilities and is constructing a brand new purpose built sound stage unit on the land which will further increase the site’s ability to supply and cater for large-scale screen productions.
