Nick is the Managing Partner of Hesketh Henry and a key member of the firm’s Construction and Infrastructure team. Recognised as one of New Zealand’s leading construction lawyers, Nick is trusted by top-tier civil and vertical contractors, international design consultancies, and specialist subcontractors for his strategic advice and deep sector expertise.

With over two decades of experience in New Zealand and the UK, Nick advises on all aspects of construction law – from contract negotiation and mid-project advice to dispute resolution. His work spans major commercial and infrastructure projects, including transport, energy, social, and environmental developments, both domestically and across the Pacific.

Nick is a regular speaker at construction industry forums such as NZIQS, NZSCL, and AMINZ, and his insights have been published in the Arbitrators’ & Mediators’ Journal, Building Law Journal, Solicitors’ Journal, and Build Law. He has authored several leading New Zealand papers on building and engineering law topics.

Complementing his construction expertise, Nick also has experience advising on insurance matters, including liability claims with underwriters. Drawing on a lifelong connection to sailing, he also maintains a specialist interest in legal issues arising from the America’s Cup and other yachting events, where he has contributed specialist commentary.
