Isaac is a solicitor in our Disputes Team.

Isaac studied at the University of Auckland obtaining a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Economics. He joined Hesketh Henry early in 2023 as part of the Litigation and Disputes Resolution team. 

Isaac has acted on various disputes, ranging from low-value claims to high-value litigation. He also has prior experience working in-house at one of the largest insurance brokers, where he was part of a team implementing the Financial Services Legislation Amendment Act (FSLAA) into the business. He has unique experience working on some of the largest construction and Fair Trading Act claims in New Zealand.

His ethos is to provide clients with the most efficient resolution strategy and pragmatic next steps while keeping recovery costs appropriate.

Isaac is currently on The Law Association of New Zealand’s NextGen Lawyers Committee, an active member of the Insurance Network, Young Insurance Professionals, and the Society of Construction Lawyers.

  • Acting for a number of small companies in relation to disputes with leases and contracts.
  • Representing an international client in the District Court in relation to a debt recovery action.
  • Advising a client concerning the pursuit of a purchaser defaulting on payment.

Insurance

  • Representing insurers in relation to a wide range of subrogated recoveries.
  • Acting for insurers on claims involving losses up to and more than $60 million.

Construction

  • Acting for a consulting company in relation to allegations of defective advice.
  • Working with colleagues in relation to one of the countries’ largest infrastructure projects.
