Managing sick or injured employees is often an extremely challenging exercise for employers. The law in this area can be difficult to navigate, and it is frequently an emotionally charged time for everyone.
Please join us in person at our offices or on Zoom for an employment law workshop to introduce the legal framework, understand the required steps, and recognise the red flags around Medical Incapacity. Our presenters, Alison Maelzer and Madeline Wrigley, will be covering the following topics:
- What law applies? Relevant legislation, contractual considerations and case law.
- What should (and shouldn’t) be in your employment agreement?
- How to manage an employee who is:
- away from work for an extended period; or
- frequently (but intermittently) away from work; or
- at work, but unable to effectively perform.
- Avoiding the pitfalls – where can it all go wrong, and how to keep things on track.
